Terms of Service

CoCap is an English speaking-practice service on the web and in an Android app: Sessions (conversations with other members), Words, Learn (Read, Listen and Write), Practice (including solo speaking tools), Kyra (a personal AI English companion), My English, and CapCoins — rewards you earn by practising. By using CoCap you agree to these terms.

You sign in with a phone number or an email address using a code we send to it, or with a password you set. Keep your account secure; you are responsible for what happens on it. One account per person. You must be 13 or older to use CoCap, and 18 or older to use Sessions. If you are under 18, use CoCap with a parent or guardian's consent.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings, or by writing to us — see how account deletion works.

CoCap is free in this release. No payment, card or subscription is required to use the current product. The Android app has no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.

Until July 2026 the website briefly sold paid plans; those have ended and nothing renews. See the Refund policy. CoCap may introduce subscriptions in a future release, but not before the Terms, Privacy Policy and store disclosures are updated and the price is shown clearly before purchase.

The Android app is distributed through Google Play, and your use of it is also subject to Google Play’s Terms of Service. Google is not a party to these Terms.

The app needs an internet connection, and asks for microphone access when you use a speaking feature — you can refuse, and the rest of the app still works. It may ask to send you notifications, which you can refuse or switch off later.

Be respectful — to Kyra, to CoCap, and above all to other members in Sessions. No harassment, hate speech, sexual content, spam, impersonation, selling or recruiting, and no sharing other people's personal information.

Do not try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, and do not use automated means to earn CapCoins.

In Sessions you can report a problem and block a member; reports go only to the CoCap team. You can also write to hello@cocap.in. We act on genuine reports and may remove content, or suspend or close accounts, at our discretion.

Sessions are 20-minute English conversations on Zoom between two members who are both practising. Nobody on a call is a teacher, a tutor or an examiner, and a host's English level is their own estimate. CoCap reviews host applications by hand but cannot guarantee how any member behaves.

Every member agrees to the Sessions community rules before their first session, and those rules are part of these Terms. Among them: Sessions are for people 18 and over; do not record, screenshot or stream a session (CoCap does not record them either); keep personal contact details private; cancel early if you cannot come.

The call runs on Zoom, and Zoom's own terms and privacy policy apply to it. Times depend on members being available, and a session may be cancelled; we will tell you if one cannot go ahead. Breaking the rules can mean losing access to Sessions.

Kyra is an AI companion inside CoCap, not a human teacher, guardian or examiner. Depending on what you ask, she may teach, coach or rehearse a situation with you. Her replies, corrections, feedback and your English level are automatic assessments to help you practise — not professional advice or certification, and no job or exam outcome is promised.

AI content can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable. Check anything important yourself, and tell us when something looks wrong (Me → Send feedback → A Kyra answer).

Kyra keeps a few notes to make later conversations fit you. They can be mistaken; you can review, correct and delete them at any time in Kyra’s memory.

Your CoCap level recognises your practice on CoCap and nothing more. It is not an accredited qualification, and CoCap is not affiliated with IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or any other exam board.

When you use a speaking feature, CoCap uses your microphone with your permission. Your speech is turned into text either by your device or, on most phones, by sending a short clip to Groq for speech-to-text. The Privacy Policy sets out which clips travel where and which are kept.

Recordings you save in Speak are private to you, and you can delete any of them at any time.

CapCoins are virtual in-app rewards for practising. They have no monetary value, cannot be bought, sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and are not property.

You spend CapCoins only where the app clearly shows a price. Kyra Learn answers do not charge or reward CapCoins. The CapCoins screen lists every way coins are earned and spent.

XP is a count of your practice. It cannot be spent and has no value outside CoCap.

We may adjust or discontinue rewards, and may reverse CapCoins obtained through error, abuse or automation. CapCoins and XP end when your account does.

You own what you write and say. You give CoCap a licence to store and use it within the service so it can work — to let Kyra coach you, to score and assess your practice, to show your profile card to other signed-in learners if your public profile is on, and to show your first name and topic to the member you book a session with.

If you send feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve CoCap without owing you anything for them. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train AI models.

CoCap relies on third-party services — Zoom for Sessions calls among them — and links to other websites. Their own terms and policies apply to your use of them, and we do not control their content.

CoCap is provided "as is", without a promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (for almost everyone, nothing, as the service is free). Nothing here limits a liability the law does not allow us to limit.

We may update these Terms as CoCap changes. We will change the date at the top, and for a change that materially affects you we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use CoCap after that means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
